I Apologies in advance this is a little bit long. There's an interview out there about this, I wish I knew where it was. After GTA III came out, Driver actually backed down (also it's own interview) but still took cues from it and VC. Oh did you know that Driver 2 scared the hell out of Rockstar and really accelerated them to push GTA III out. Another reason I don't like the term GTA-clone is because clone implies a copy of something great (GTA). If it's not as great GTA, is it really a clone? GTA may have accelerated the development of spawned more games like it, but I think similar games would have started to be developed anyway. But to me it has a negative connotation attached. And to those unfamiliar with Saints Row, it's easier for them to visualise a "GTA-clone" when you explain Saints Row. It's just a lazy way to describe a type of game. If I can think that as a kid, I'm sure many other people had the same idea.
But the intrigue and want to explore was there. You could go off the side of the road a bit but not far. Well, there were other developers doing similar things. I also say this because I remember playing Road Rash as a kid and just wishing the world was more 3D and explorable and that I wished I could just free-roam. I think if it wasn't Rockstar, another developer would have done something similar. The idea of an open-world city-based crime game is an idea that would have happened (was happening) regardless of whether Rockstar existed.
What are going to do with the results? Better off with discussion. Simply toggle off cheats and reboot the game to continue earning achievements.No point in a poll, really. Toggling cheats on will remove the possibility of earning gamertag achievements and all the bragging rights that would come along with them. Note that the in-game cheats (i.e., Pipe Bomb cheat) must be toggled on the in-game cheat menu. God's Wrath (Random Lightning Strikes): #10 You must pause the game and hold down the L or the R TRIGGER. The second list are vehicles you cannot store in your car park, because lets face it, theyÂ’re HUGE!
